Redemption
A sustainability-centred series
Writing Acrylic: Do More Art prompted a methodology shift, using acrylic waste, mediums and single-use plastics to create 2D and 3D works, repurposing paint skins and plastic film, materials otherwise discarded.
The Redemption series, created for the Kindfire Exhibit and London Climate Action Week, sees acrylic waste and synthetic colour skins morph into and spill from wood logs, capturing human intervention in nature that seeks to repurpose damage rather than deepen it.
The work is the result of genuine effort; the title is both sincere and ironic: I am redeeming waste by giving it a second life while acknowledging that, for some, climate action remains a performative cry for public “redemption” rather than impactful reparation.
